Chloe Witteveen and Fouad Assaf have joined Varrlyn. Witteveen, from Darwin Recruitment, will be engaged in recruitment and marketing & PR, while Assaf, who previously worked at technology company Murex, will work as a senior business analyst.
With 16 professionals, Varrlyn is a niche consulting firm that offers dealroom and project-related services within the Financial Services domain. Varrlyn works a lot for banks and helps them to achieve cost reduction, simplify their application landscape, increase straight through processing, compliance and regulations. The dealing room specialist, which celebrated its fifth anniversary in 2015, has grown in recent years and in 2016 the Amsterdam office also focused its attention on growth. In line with this objective, the bureau recently added two new professionals to the ranks: Chloe Witteveen and Fouad Assaf.
Chloe Witteveen is a young professional with experience in hospitality, event management, IT recruitment and mobile technology. In 2014 she completed her HBO study in Hotel & Event Management at the TIO Hogeschool in Amsterdam. During her study, Witteveen gained a variety of work experience within the hospitality and event landscape. For example, she worked at the Hilton as Event Planner, as Floor Manager at Hotel Nammos on the Greek island of Mykonos, as Event-Catering Coordinator at event agency Live Solutions, as Account Manager at fashion brand Mybrand and as Sales Manager and Coordinator at Reed Business Media .
After completing her studies, Witteveen joined Darwin Recruitment, an international recruitment agency that focuses on the IT and Telecom market. As Contract Recruiter she placed IT & Telecom professionals, with her focus on companies focused on (the development of) mobile technologies. In her new role at Varrlyn, Witteveen will be responsible for corporate recruitment and marketing & PR. Asked why Witteveen chose Varrlyn she says: “This job is fully geared to my competencies. Fouad Assaf is a business analyst with a financial and IT / technical background and more than eight years experience in financial markets, derivatives, various trading systems and risk management. After completing his education at the French Engineering College Telecom Bretagne, Assaf worked in the past eight years in various roles at Murex, an IT company that develops technology for growth and innovation in the money markets. The company provides services around the design and implementation of trading, risk management, processing and post-trade solutions.
Within Murex, Assaf worked from Consultant (focus on Equity Derivatives) to Support Coordinator, then Senior Support Coordinator and in his last role as Stream Lead, where he was responsible for a major implementation project for a Dutch client. During his time at Murex, Assaf was involved in various implementation projects in countries such as Spain, Portugal, Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
Assaf has also recently started his new challenge at Varrlyn, where as a senior business analyst he will mainly focus on Murex binary upgrade and automatic test automation. He looks forward to his new role at Varrlyn and says: “I look forward to being part of the Varrlyn team and sharing knowledge and experiences with my new colleagues.”
