Varrlyn celebrates its 15th anniversary

Varrlyn, an IT consultancy firm founded in 2010, advises financial institutions on system implementations and applications for dealing rooms, risk & finance, treasury, and capital markets technology.

Today marks a special milestone: Varrlyn’s 15th anniversary. To kick off the celebrations, Managing Director Stephan van der Windt rang the opening gong at the Amsterdam Stock Exchange this morning — a proud moment for the entire team.

The Varrlyn story began in 2010 when Martin Defauwes, Stephan van der Windt, and Marlijn Boerma left their roles at a large consultancy to start their own firm. At the time, they never imagined the company would grow beyond just a handful of professionals. “We thought we’d stay small — maybe three to five people,” the founders shared in an earlier interview on the company’s 10th anniversary.

Fast forward to today, and Philip van den Emster has since joined the leadership team and, together with Martin and Stephan, is one of the three current driving forces behind Varrlyn. Varrlyn has grown into a strong team of around 30 specialists with a proven track record in the financial sector. The Amsterdam-based firm is known for its hands-on approach to implementation projects, improvement programs, and application development, supporting clients like ING, Rabobank, ABN AMRO, APG, Deutsche Bank, Van Lanschot, and NN Investment Partners.

This evening, the Varrlyn team, along with clients and partners, will gather at AbrahamArt in Amsterdam to celebrate the 15-year journey — a moment to reflect on all that’s been achieved and to look ahead to the exciting future that lies ahead.

Here’s to 15 years of partnership, innovation, and growth — and many more to come.
